A Room Flooded with Sunlight

Part 1
Model train, photograph of cloud, projector, solar panel, mic stand

Part 2
Mock-up of room, cut out photograph, video projection, lamp (operated by a solar panel), tripod

"Only by squinting could you look out the window at the dazzling sunlight gleaming on the water. The room was filled with a bright light. Through the window pane, the beams of light formed a number of bright, rectangular projections inside the room, which curved with sharpness and precision around every tiny form in the room. If you watched patiently, you could even see how the rectangle of light imperceptibly inched forward along the wall.

Now and again this was all replaced by a solar eclipse when a cloud in the otherwise blue sky slid across the sun. Then the room would lose all the projections, leaving nothing but the dull shadow of the wavy water on the wall. A brief moment later, the room was again filled with brilliant sunlight."

Fragile nature

Part 1
Photo wallpaper, sand, chair, fan, projectors, pine branches, tripods, video camera

Part 2
Photo frames, video monitor

"This is a very fragile combination, when for a moment everything connects in just the right order and proportions. A fleeting phenomenon almost impossible to repeat or reconstruct. It is so surprisingly simple and yet at the same time so subtle and impossible to explain to someone else. Why and how do such simple things and phenomena exist which can bring us such a fleeting joy?

Attempts to immortalise or grasp a dandelion puff only hasten the destruction of this delicate construct."

"A warm summer breeze ruffles sun-bleached hair."

Straight Infinity

Stones, cut out photograph, video monitor, sticks fastened in a vice, projector, tripod

"There is no clearer statement than a clear horizon, an endless sky above your head with the horizontal line meeting the sea. Why does this ancient union leave me lost in thought again and again? This is a question to which I don’t really want to find an answer. The water continues to rhythmically lap against the shore."
